2017-2020
Political Campaign Communication Volunteer
For the 2017-2018 2019-2020 election cycles, I was an unpaid volunteer for several local political campaigns as a communication volunteer. I helped write and edit letters, and campaign fundraising emails using SEO techniques. I also wrote postcards, direct mail pieces, and text messages. I also made phone calls. I helped write and review social media and I wrote articles for publications on get out the vote, as well as writing a communication plan for the Weld County Democrats. In addition, I am a precinct chair for precinct 222.
2009 - 2010
Columnist for the Greeley Tribune
For about a year, I had a monthly column In the Greeley Tribune...a blog of sorts, before blogging was a thing. I could write about anything and everything, and I did. My particular talent was getting a meaningful piece written in exactly 600 words.

Teacher
I've spent a good part of the last twenty years in education, most of the time as a teacher. I enjoyed working with kids and getting them excited about writing and reading and math. My teaching and education experience gives me keen insight into writing for the education niche. I also continue to teach as a tutor and substitute.

Advertising, Marketing, Sales and Radio
There is no truth to the rumor that I came out of the Ark with Noah, but I have been on the planet for a good long while. Therefore, I have a good deal of experience. Primarily, I worked in publishing - newspaper and magazine. For about nine years, I was the advertising and marketing director for Los Angeles Lawyer magazine; and before that, I did nearly everything for a trade publication called Indoor Comfort News...reporting, writing, ad sales, photography...a small operation to be sure. In addition, I have been a newsletter writer for several local organizations and I worked in radio for a year, writing ad copy for 30 and 60 second spots.
